Wash Post Editors Bias: Why?

The former owner of the Washington Post was Katherine Graham, now deceased. As an owner, she was a popular fixture of the Washington social scene and held in high regard by both the staff and editors of the Post. What many people don’t realize was that she served on the BoT for years.Even though Ms Graham has been gone for some time, she left a legacy with her editors who still share her views. Unfortunately the editors have permitted themselves to be influenced by their personal views and did their readers a grave injustice by not exploring the issues behind the protest first.

  1. How true! Could you tell us what years Kathleen Graham served on the Gally’s BOT? How long?

  2. Good News. The Washington Post has lost about 3% subscribers in the last year. They probably were turned off with the the editor’s articles :)

  3. Mz, How’s your blood pressure. Take a deep breath. In/out in/out. There you go!

  4. My blood pressure is just fine, thank you!
How is yours? Maybe take a long dip in the hot tub, then do some meditation?
Robert, that is a good question. I don’t have the access to BoT archives

    Greg, interesting tidbit.

  5. You are right about The Washington Post one sided bias. But one minor correction about Katherine Graham. She served on The Board of Associates, not the Board of Trustees. She was responsible for fundraising but not decision making.

  6. I think I will go in the hot tub, good idea. The Bahamas is great this time of year!

  7. Another tidbit of history – when Mrs. Graham ran the Washington Post she was extremely friendly with the many Deaf printers who worked there. She was often seen chatting with them. So, am not too sure what her attitude today would be about the protest. Let’s give the lady some credit, shall we?!?

  8. Bahamas sound like a good idea! :)

That is true, old friend. Who knows?

  9. LOL…

Hey, Old Friend. If you use the word “tidbit,” people are going to easily know who you are!

    SMILE

I’m sure she would fire her son immediately if she saw those horrible pseudo-editorials that were printed in the Post that were probably written by the Gallaudet PR Dept.

  10. I lost all respect for The Washington Post during the protest. They made no pretence at being objective. If I had a subscription, I’d cancel it.

  11. Brian, old friend is indeed an old friend of mine, a very nice person. I value her opinions. :)
