Corruption Within The Administration
I have to say that we all are at fault for allowing the Jordan administration too many leeway in running the school. Over the years (attended Gally in ‘80 and 81) the SBG had a huge role in working with other departments in budgeting unit fees, the sbg had a huge role in student life and affairs. Homecoming and other events were the small agendas. the SBG had a powerful role. The Merrill administration, like those before that, only served to ensure all was in order. Students had more leeway in campus affairs. Those were the golden years of student empowerment.
Today, the administration has empowered itself to run all things it sees fit, regardless of what students have to say.
We are at fault for allowing corruption to take hold of College Hall. Not everyone there are corrupted, of course, but the powers that be. Now, we can take that responsibility to clean up the corruption. JK was groomed for the job long before, 7 years ago I believe, at the time she was tagged to be the provost. I don’t have the facts to justify this statement; however, I have heard from the source. Have to be anonymous, of course.
If the board does not take control of this mess, we have to fight corruption. That means all of those who know the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, must come out and tell their stories. It is time to come out of the shadows and start testifying. So help us, God.

Working there for 10 years (up to 2000), I am telling you, it was virtually impossible to do much as a worker, a student, and even as a tenured faculty. There were small activitism that die out in few months to a year. I was on several committees for up to 2 years with little to no result.
It would take a massive protest long time ago anyway.

definition of the goal of leadership found in google..
Leading & Leadership
Goals
Your thinking skills can be considered directional skills because they set the direction for your organization. They provide vision, purpose, and goal definition. These are your eyes and ears to the future, allowing you to recognize the need for change, when to make it, how to implement it, and how to manage it. You find vision by reaching for any available reason to change, grow, and improve. Just as you perform preventive maintenance on your car, you must perform preventive maintenance on your organization. Do NOT believe in the old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” for the people who do, go broke! Treat every project as a change effort. Treat every job as a new learning experience.
Good organizations convey a strong vision of where they will be in the future. As a leader, you have to get your people to trust you and be sold on your vision. Using the leadership tools described in this guide and being honest and fair in all you do will provide you with the ammo you need to gain their trust. To sell them on your vision, you need to possess energy and display a positive attitude that is contagious. People want a strong vision of where they are going. No one wants to be stuck in a dead-end company going nowhere…or a company headed in the wrong direction. They want to be involved with a winner! And your people are the ones who will get you to that goal. You cannot do it alone!
How about that??
Anon,
Thank you. It does seem a miracle that Jane Fernandes thinks otherwise. Well, she’s talking about hearing aids, hearing tests, all languages, modes of communication, new order of the Deaf…new Deaf version of Trivial Pursuit…and now she’s alone, and she can do it alone! We don’t have to follow her.
