From A Faculty Witness At MSSD Gate

I got this story from a GU faculty member (who has given permission
too) who happened to be at the MSSD gate this morning.  Read the story
and know that this teacher just emailed me saying that we should not
blame the underprepared DPS or PPD–this teacher suggests and I agree,
that it is the administration who should take the blame for this.

IKJ and JKF have been at the helm for too many years with too little
response. JKF has already had her chance, to rectify this DANGEROUS
supervisory neglect of the DPS.  Carl Dupree might still be alive today
if DPS were better supervised.  And I will not stand by again and wait
for another (risisting or not-resisting) student to be abused, injured,
or killed.  I won’t do it!  Here are the unedited words of this
teacher’s story:

“I was there at 9 and saw the two injured students. I offered to let
the students put their tents in my van, but frankly, all were pretty
stunned and dysfunctional. One other thing to add is that the PPD
[Physical Plant Dept]  workers were blowing debris at us (witnesses).
They were on the road, blowing up dust and dirt in our faces, very
intentionally. The large objects had not even been removed, so to have
been working with blowers was highly premature. I interpreted for an
injured student briefly before one of the GIS interpreters rushed over.
Then, shaken, T went to find help.”
