Endless Pondering

More on Reprisals and Gallaudet-Suzy Rosen Singleton

Unfortunately, folks, you got to consider ALL the below alleged reprisals confirmed because I personally have seen letters and/or I have personally confirmed the allegations with the affected individuals about the retaliatory actions taken by the Administration.  Now I am trying to confirm the allegation that students who were not even arrested are getting letters from the Judicial Affairs board threatening academic sanctions merely based on their perceived support of the protest.

Furthermore folks…

I’ve been urged to reveal the ugly truth about the administration’s intimidation, implemented by a select few without shared governance:

For the past three weeks the students have been having public safety meetings with the administration and the three police forces involved (DPS, the campus police; MPD the DC police; and, SPO the rent-a-cops).  I have been involved with these meetings along with other attorneys.  After the arrests on Black Friday October 13, the students and police met once again on Sunday October 15 at 930 pm to ensure there would be  no “surprises” on Monday and that the campus would be open for business via the 6th street entrance.  DPS shared that it purportedly represented the Administration at the meetings because it reports and conveys messages to and from the Administration.  Accordingly at that meeting all representatives agreed no “surprises” would occur on Monday October 16.  The students promised they would not lock down the campus or HMB.  The Administration and police forces promised no assaults or intimidation and to respect the agreement that only the 6th street entrance must be open for vehicular traffic.

Monday October 16 seemed to go smoothly until around 7 pm, when the faculty publicly delivered a resounding vote against IKJ and JFK.  Instantly copies of an unsigned memorandum on Gallaudet University stationery were distributed to the masses of protesters at the front gate informing them that two additional entrances must be opened for vehicular traffic by 6 am the next morning.  In light of Black Friday’s 134 arrests, this memorandum understandably created great intimidation and distress for the masses about potential arrests.  Hence I called for another meeting with MPD (the DC police) to obtain reassurances that no arrests will take place.  I personally confirmed with the MPD, the DPS as well as the SPO, that all of them had absolutely no idea that this memo existed let alone went out to the public, and they gave me word that they refuse to intervene either with making arrests or imposing intimidation in any way accordingly.

Yes folks, the police forces were not even consulted before this memo was sent out requesting a 6 am deadline for vacating specific gates.  To date, the administration has not even explained such an absurd and unethical empty threat to either the police forces or the protesters.  The DC police and DPS says its contact person for campus matters is Paul Kelly.  The students requested that the administrators come to the public safety meetings and at the last public safety meeting on Wednesday October 18, the administrators still had not come.  Instead, at that meeting, the DPS handed the students an unsigned memo from Paul Kelly, IJK, and JFK tersely stating that they are willing to meet with the students.  To date no meeting has taken place.

Then as many of you know, IKJ unilaterally cancelled the homecoming without even consulting the students, police forces, and protesters.

With all due respect, what happened to shared goverance?

  2. How interesting…

The opposition started in May. Something had to be done to get rid of the opposition…

    1. False intentions
    2. DPS Public Safety meetings with protesters (obstinately to collect the names of the attendees!)
    3. Unsigned letters
    4. Targeting not only the active particpants but also the onlookers.
    5. Broke promises
    6. Management by intimidation (MBI)

Won’t be long before the staff and faculty are targeted then the alumni get total ban from the campus.

These are the patterns associated with “New Order” tactics employed by totalitarian regimes (Stalin, Hitler, other malevolents).

  3. Yes, very interesting…

This is really outrageous what the adminstration is doing to its OWN students. These students are the CORE of why Gallaudet is in EXISTENCE! By continuing doing things of this nature, it is only going to add fuel to the fire that is becoming one high flame that can’t be blown out. The public is going to see that the administration is going too far!! They have already arrested their own students and then they are trying to “silence” the ones that got arrested by sending them letters. What administration does this to their OWN!! They think by doing this, the protest will die! In essence, the administration, is digging its own grave.
