Endless Pondering

Gates Open Today, Ryan Said

The students made the decision to open the gates today.

Via pager of our deaf warrior, Ryan Commerson: We intend to stay peaceful.. We want to enjoy a day of victory

From mishkazena:  I certainly understand that. They deserve to enjoy a celebratory day after all their hard work the last few days!

  1. Are the faculty going to the classes or just sitting down and waiting for JKF’s bow out?

  6. Jack B-

This site is FOR protesters, supporterss and people who want to know what’s going on.

You kept on dropping this kind of comments all over websites. Grow up and find your own anti-protest site and leave your nasty comments there. God.

  7. The problem is you people make up the truth as you see fit. When one angle doesn’t stick you throw out another. Look back from the very beginning and the answer will be found. You all would have protested anyone’s appointment. Learn the definition of respect.

  9. What you should all do is disrupt homecoming so it can’t go on and everyone is afraid to come!!!

  10. Jack b – what you said… “The problem is you people make up the truth as you see fit. When one angle doesn’t stick you throw out another.”

This applies to pro-Jane camp as well.

The gates opened not at Administration’s request but by the goodwill of the protesters. Simple.

  11. Whoever you are jack b- you seemed to be a very angry person. Please do not waste my time and send any more of your garbage. I find it very strange that people like you and King Jordan would support a protest in 1988 that made King a very rich man, and then turn around and stab the vast majority of Deaf people worldwide now. Please…give us more respect than that.

  12. Barinthus, Okay so you do admit that this is also happening on the protesters side. Maybe we can see both sides are strecthing truth’s. Stop the innuendo’s and move on to a positve solution for EVERYONE!!!

  13. All Gallaudet gates are open….FINALLY this equals the “Parting of the Red Sea!!”

Now, get back to the business of education and join the REAL world.

  14. jack b, it was the decision of the students to open the gates, not the administration.

  15. MZ with all do respect, the protesters should not be playing GOD on campus. Their is an administration that does this. Only, the protesters have been making it difficult.
Who do you propose to be the President. Maybe you should get on the Board so you hsve an input rather than distrupting the daily ops at the campus.
    Nobody likes a crybaby!
If you want to protest have some dignity so it does not come back to get you in the future.

  16. When MLK protested, his people shut down businesses, crowded streets, and engaged in guerilla (non-violent) tactics that got themselves arrested. MLK himself was arrested about 6 times.

Do you think he didn’t have dignity?

  17. The difference here you, the protesters, are protesting against one of our own oeople. MLK didn’t protest agaist Loiuis Farrakan or one of his own. He actually had unity and a real cause.
Your cause is personal and I believe somewhat outrageous. To keep fighting this way will be the end of Gally

  18. Again Jack B- you seemed like a very angry person. Fine, go be angry within yourself. 8 years of this is long enought. Go ask the many, many, many people who have worked for Dr. Fernandes what type of person she really is,how she consically mis-treated people. That should close you up for now. Again, in 1988 we made King Jordan a very rich man- and then he treats us (faculty, staff, students AND alumnus)like garbage.

  19. The anger and hatred which is viewed from the street by the protesters surpasses any anger I have seen by anyone from the administration. As for me, I love you all, and hope you can get on with your lives.

  20. Jack B “Barinthus, Okay so you do admit that this is also happening on the protesters side. Maybe we can see both sides are strecthing truth’s. Stop the innuendo’s and move on to a positve solution for EVERYONE!!!”

It’s the nature of the beast – people will say what they want and frame the truth the way they want. After all truth is relative.

That is why I took time to educate myself, talk with people from both sides, and make my own observations. I know where I stand now.

The question I answered for myself was this: which side had to “frame” the truth the most? The evidence against JKF, BOT, and the current Gallaudet administration is so overwhelming the anti-JKF camp hardly have to twist anything. Naturally there are others who may reach at a different conclusion.
